The End of the Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 30

Your favorite book of all time

This one it too easy for Kristen. It's not fair. I really liked all of Sarah Dessen's novels. I really liked Partials by Dan Wells also but the third was kind of a let down. I don't know. I like a lot of books while I'm reading them and they are sometimes all I think about but eventually I move on. I bet I would feel differently if I could get all my favourite books made into movies that I could enjoy in two hours over and over again. It helps to see what others thought about it. Basically, they need to keep making movies out of books but do it right.

~ Kelsey

Mwhahahahahaha, I wonder how many of my answers are The Hunger Games.

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 29

A book everyone hated but you liked

Are there really books that everyone hates? Perfect Ruin by Lauren DeStefano only has a 3.8 rating on Goodreads...I loved that. Honestly, I usually just read what Kristen tells me to or novels by authors I've read before. I never read a book that everyone complains about...

~ Kelsey

P.S. Deal with my cop out answer.

To be totally honest with you, I usually am in agreement with what majority of people think when it comes to books. Hmmm, lemme take a gander at my goodreads list. Okay, I'm pulling a Kelsey. I really, really, really loved Flawed by Kate Avelynn, and it has a pretty decent standing on goodreads, but it is simply not high enough!

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 28

Favorite title

This is a great and easy question because I can say anything and you can't complain that it's a bad answer. Kathy Reichs does this cool thing with her Temperance Brennan novels where they all have the word 'bone' in them. There is Flash and Bones and Bare Bones. If I were her I would run out of names for the books. She has so many. They make it hard to remember which ones you've already read though.

~ Kelsey

Lemme go look at my bookshelf real quick. I have hmm'd and haa'd for days (only a half lie. I actually wrote the first part of this probably weeks ago... the only reason I'm coming back is because Kelsey reminded me that I never actually answered...) AND I STILL DON'T KNOW. So, because it's right in my line of vision, I'm going with Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi.

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 27

The most surprising plot twist or ending

I constantly forget how hard these questions are. Well...What's happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen wrapped up in a way I was both prepared for and unprepared for. It's not a hardcore plot twist though. I think I'm going to go with the Wither series because that series likely to kill people and it hurt a lot.

~ Kelsey

Definitely Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. Or, Catching Fire, when I read it the first time. I totally should have seen it coming. I just... didn't.

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 26

A book that changed your opinion about something

Yeah...I have less than no idea. I guess Dracula made me enjoy vampire novels more than Twilight did...

~ Kelsey

Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout made me think that aliens are pretty cool (you know, if they're super hot and sassy like Daemon). I have a feeling that's not what the question is actually asking me though.

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 25

A character who you can relate to the most

Oh, come on, really? I don't know...
I relate to Sarah Dessen's characters pretty well. I can't tell you which one I relate to the most or anything but each of them seems to have a piece of me in them. It's probably because they are for the most part ordinary girls. I love reading about them.
~ Kelsey

After the marks I've been getting back, I'm inclined to compare myself to Haymitch Abernathy. But, I won't just say that. SO my second answer is Anna from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 23

A book you wanted to read for a long time but still haven’t

I really want to read Sherlock Holmes. I have the first volume and a few years ago I read about a chapter but I never got back into it. I'm hoping I will this year but it's big so we'll see.
~ Kelsey

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken.. But, by the time that this is posted I'll probably have read it because it's sitting on my shelf just  begging to be read.

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 22

Favorite book you own

(Not favourite over all book) I would have to say that it is this super fancily bound copy of the Grimm Fairytales I bought in Florida last year. It's gorgeous. I love it. It may be the most beautiful book I've ever seen. I'm hoping to get the Hans Christian Anderson one this year!
~ Kelsey

Probably my copy of The Fault in our Stars because John Green signed it and that's super cool.
OR maybe I'll change my answer to any of the books that I have signed because signed books are super cool I want all of them.

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 21

Favorite book from your childhood

Ummmm...actually liked in my youth, not like looking back, my favourite childhood book would have to be this big, pink, Disney princess fairytale book I had. It was so heavy but I loved it.
~ Kelsey

Probably anything written by Judy Blume. Are you there God? It's me Margaret stands out in my head. I also remember really enjoying Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech when I was in grade 6!

Favorite romance book

I think my favourite romance book is Getting Rid of Bradley by Jennifer Cruise.
~ Kelsey

The entire Thoughtless series by S.C Stephens!

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 19

Favorite book turned into a movie

(Kristen is going to say the Hunger Games)
I'm not sure if it counts but if it does, I really enjoy Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr..
Oh, I liked Safe Haven!

~ Kelsey

(Kristen's going to say Catching Fire, actually, smarty-pants)

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 18

A book that disappointed you

Catcher in the Rye. Kristen enjoyed it and it's a book you read in school sometimes. I didn't read it in school so I read it on my own and I don't think it lived up to the hype. Then again, classics aren't really my thing either. It was meh.

~ Kelsey

Allegiant by Veronica Roth & Requiem by Lauren Oliver.

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 17

Favorite quote from your favorite book

“Each life has a different purpose, and some people can find their purpose more easily than others. The key, the most important thing you can ever know, is that whatever your purpose is, that's not your only choice"
-- Dan Well, Partials

~Kelsey

So, I'm kind of cheating because TFIOS isn't my favourite book, but it's definitely top ten and I absolutely love this quote.

"Augustus Waters was a self-aggrandizing bastard. But we forgive him. We forgive him not because he had a heart as figuratively good as his literal one sucked, or because he knew more about how to hold a cigarette than any nonsmoker in history, or because he got eighteen years when he should've gotten more.'
'Seventeen,' Gus corrected.
'I'm assuming you've got some time, you interupting bastard.
'I'm telling you,' Isaac continued, 'Augustus Waters talked so much that he'd interupt you at his own funeral. And he was pretentious: Sweet Jesus Christ, that kid never took a piss without pondering the abundant metaphorical resonances of human waste production. And he was vain: I do not believe I have ever met a more physically attractive person who was more acutely aware of his own physical attractiveness.
'But I will say this: When the scientists of the future show up at my house with robot eyes and they tell me to try them on, I will tell the scientists to screw off, because I do not want to see a world without him.'"

-- John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

And, from my actual fayborit book in the world

"I'll tell them how I survive it. I'll tell them that on bad mornings, it feels impossible to take pleasure in things because I'm afraid it could be taken away. That's when I make a list in my head of every act of goodness I've seen someone do. It's like a game. Repetitive. Even a little tedious after more than twenty years.

But there are much worse games to play."

-- Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay.

I think it was just such a perfect way to end the series!

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 16

Favorite female character

I like Kira from Partials by Dan Wells. I like that she is tough and is trying to do something good. I'm tired of weak females that struggle to keep up with men or who exist for just love stuff.
I like a lot of female characters but I think I'll pick her.
This question was hard too!
What's yours?

~ Kelsey

KATNISS EVERDEEN.

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 15

Favorite male character

OMG I DO NOT KNOW!
I think I'm going to go with Luke from The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks. There are just sooooo many. I want to pick some but they died. I want to pick others cough Daemon Black (Lux Series) but they can be really jerk like. I want to pick like every character ever. However, I did enjoy The Longest Ride and Luke was all for hard work, family, and his girl. I don't know.
This is the hardest question ever in the history of hard questions.

I'm interested to see what you all think. Comment. I'm curious!

~ Kelsey

I'd like to plead the fifth. What's that? I'm not American? Dammit!

Okay. Hmm. Ahhh. Oiii this one pains me.

(Y'all aint just getting one because that's impossible and I'm not in the whole "defy the impossible" mood today ;) )

Okay. Let us begin.

Peeta Mellark. Finnick Odair. Kellan Kyle. Daemon Black. Augustus Waters.

And, that's all I'm going to list, because I could probably go on forever.

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 14

Favorite book of your favorite writer

By Sarah Dessen, I think either Just Listen or What Happened to Goodbye. I can't choose!

~ Kelsey

This is just plain old cruel. Today I think I'm going to say Mockingjay! (By the wonderful Suzanne Collins, of course!)

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 13

Your favorite writer

I think my choice is Sarah Dessen. Of authors, I have enjoyed hers the most, I think, and basically loved all of her novels. I do enjoy my easy to read, cute, love stories.

~ Kelsey

HI SUZANNE COLLINS, HOW ARE YOU DOING SUZANNE COLLINS, COULD I GET YOU A DRINK SUZANNE COLLINS?!

Suzanne Collins.

Also, if I haven't said it, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 12

A book you used to love but don’t anymore

I think for this one I will go with Twilight. I read it before it got popular and enjoyed it well enough. It wasn't my favourite but as more and more people went fangirl over it, I lost interest. It isn't as good as everyone seems to think. Now it just drives me nuts. Also, The Series of Unfortunate Events. I had that faze.

~ Kelsey

I used to be obsessed with Walk Two Moons by Shaorn Creech (I think that's what it's called - I checked, it is). I still like it, but I'm not nearly as obsessed.

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 11

A book you hated

This question is not at all Christmasy. I call for a redo on this question list!!
I hated Anna Karenina. The names confused the heck out of me. There were like four stories all happening at the same time and I didn't care about most of them. Plus, the book was freakishly long. I hated that novel. I never finished it even though Kristen and I were going to make a contest out of it.

~ Kelsey

If I say Harry Potter will there be spells cast? And if so, what kind of spells will be cast? Just kidding guys, I didn't hate that one.

I did, however, hate Looking For Alaska.

Don't even get me started.

The Epic, Extravagant, (Evil), and Elastic Examination Day 10

Favorite classic book

This is an easy one. Dracula. It kept me interested for the whole novel even though it was super long. I found it fairly easy to imagine what the author was explaining and the story she was telling. I guess it helps that so many movies and TV shows have come from this novel. I could have been influenced.

~ Kelsey

Catcher in the Rye counts, right?
